New York City’s population is nowhere near the small town of Chadron, Nebraska’s 5787, New york has a population nearly 1500 times our population at 8.4 million. Out of all the people living in New York 1 in every 152 people are homeless putting them at 55,000 people that are homeless and have no where they can go. A little over 3,000 of them don't live in homeless shelters. There are 14,000 families that live there everyday lives on the street. Alone children take up almost half of the homeless with 24,000. At least 60 percent or more live on the streets and shelters in Manhattan.
