Inside a section of sewer tunnels underneath a street in Oakland, California, things can be very unpleasant, regardless if he and his Kameraden were detected by either enemy sentries or even the unsuspecting sewer maintenance worker on the occasional night shift. When it seemed that everything seemed safe for both himself and the others he was with at the time, he told the others what he had seen. “There’s nothing here,” whispered Chandler, “Let’s get a move on.” Not long after that, he briefly removed the long magazine clip on his silenced MP40, checking to see if …show more content…

He was also the one who unlocked the doors. Opening one of the two doors slightly, he checked the linear hallway outside, making sure that Venice’s Dweller city guard were not patrolling the adjacent hallway. His observations revealed two sentries to the immediate right of the door, their backs facing the direction that the Nightingales were supposed to appear. Based on his observations, apparently, the two sentries were having a smoke break, given the nearby odorous smell of tobacco.
Virgil knew that he had to let the others know. Closing the door he used to peek around the adjacent hallway outside, he whispered, “Two city guardsmen. They appear to be having a smoke break.” He requested the approval of Chandler the Fair, so that he may kill one of them with his dagger. “Permission to have you and me eliminate them with our
