Some sociological theories and concepts that explain the different aspects of how homelessness is being enhanced on a daily basis are: the structural strain theory, the social class conflict theory, and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. (Crossman, 2017, Para 1) states that, “structural strain theory explains deviant behavior as an inevitable outcome of the strain individuals experience when society does not provide adequate and approved means to achieve culturally valued goals.” In other words, many people aspire to have stability and live comfortably, despite the inequalities of society and what they are actually achieving.
