When coming back from the military training or a war zone many of the veterans suffer from some type of trauma whether it be physical, psychological or sexual. Kabbara (2016), reported that “homeless veterans experienced high rates of post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and sexual trauma” (Kabbara, 2016). Also another big issue that female members face is the risk of being exposed to military sexual trauma, sexual assault or repeated sexual harassment while they are in the military service (Kabbara, 2016). According to the Morris (2013), MST is defined as “sexual harassment that is threatening in character or physical assault of a sexual nature that occurred while the victim was in the military, regardless of geographic location of the trauma, gender of victim, or the relationship to the perpetrator.” (Morris et al., 2013). Because of shame and stigma they are often not admitting that they need psychological help so it is hard for them to overcome the barrier to get the help they may need.
