Homeless Shelters: The Issue Of Homelessness

There are approximately 20,000 homeless people in Detroit Michigan , 25% of those homeless people are children,13% are veterans, about 60% are families with children and almost half are mentally ill. In the homeless shelter there are about 1,900 beds in the shelter. More than half of the homeless people are children, 69% of homeless people in Michigan families are single mothers with children.There shouldn’t be any people living on the streets.All the homeless people,mainly live downtown Detroit under the bridge. Money is the biggest issue of homelessness in the United States.You need a job to make money in order to get a job you need to have all of the qualifications for the job. The fundraiser would be successful if everyone pitch in to donate money to the homeless shelters.

There are a lot of advantages of becoming homeless such as losing your job and house because you can’t pay the rent, but statistics show that some people are homeless by choice.That you would live in a homeless shelter and you would get meals depending on which one you live in.That they may provide you with clothes and you would have a bed to sleep on and you wouldn’t sleep outside in the cold.They may have running water that way you could wash up and be clean.They may ask you to help out around the shelter and that would improve your feelings and outcome of the …show more content…
Disadvantages they wouldn’t be able to get a good paying job.They wouldn't take it seriously and they wouldn’t get the job. So if they're serious they may get the job and if they're not serious they would be back on the street.

I believe that this would help the homeless people that want to get of the street get a job and a home.I believe we could help these people get off the street and we could change the world together and lower the rate of homelessness.So I’m going to need everyone to do their part in this fundraiser to donate money for the homeless people.If you’re ready to change lives just participate and contribute.Just believe that we could help out the homeless people.

In conclusion, I see the homeless rate reducing to about 90%.We can give them a second chance in the world to be something and make something out of their self.The world is going to become a better place for our fellow citizens without anything.
