The Homeless bill of Rights had been deemed somewhat effective, but in order to address the entire population all states need to have the same guidelines and all the states need to enact these homeless bill of rights. This not only needs to be a state law but a federal law, to address this issue. In addition to the Homeless bill of rights each state should broadly define what it means to be homeless, in addition to defining discriminatory practices against people who are homeless. The first tackle of the Homeless Bill of right would be the language that the bill presents. Many of the language used in different states homeless bill of rights, are not clear and very vague. For example, in the initial draft of Rhode Island bill of rights include the right of “Quality Health care. (National law Center on Homeless & Poverty,2014). This is very vague and needs to be broken down further into what accessible healthcare a homeless person can receive. Another recommendation that need to be made as far as language is the guideline that states” freely to sleep in public places”. This is very vague and needs also to be cited specifically where they can and cannot sleep.

With the population constantly increase due to the various other social problems linked to it, in my opinion this will be something that will be relevant for a very long time. With policies like the McKinney-Vento act and Homeless Bill of Rights that are in place, they have both over the years been revised and many provisions have been made to prove that they are ultimately successful. As the field of social work increases throughout the United States, in my opinion this profession will be the upfront responders to this large social issue, as far as getting homeless individuals the to the various institutions and programs available to them and allowing them to understand that right that are in place to help
