Descriptive Essay About Home

Home, the place I was raised, where I took my first steps, where I was loved and nurtured by my mother. The place where you go home after a long day of school, or work and feel protected. My brothers and sister were raised in this house and I am getting raised as well learning and discovering new things with or without them by my side. Home, is where I feel safest, where no one can hurt me, where I can be myself. The house I live has changed a lot from what it started from, the walls were painted different colors, the furniture changed throughout the years, decor changed throughout the house, but one thing that stuck with me through my time at my house is the memories. You make so many memories throughout your whole life but few will admit …show more content…
I love my home and that is why it is my special place but one thing I hate is the rules that my mom provides because if it was my house there would be no rules. I wish I could leave whenever I wanted without her asking twenty questions, be as loud as I want and play music as loud as I want. I hate that we haven 't done anything different with the entire house other than paint the walls and change the furniture. I want to get new carpet, wall decorations, new furniture, new christmas tree, new kitchen table, and new cabinets in the kitchen. I hate getting questioned by my family when I’m sitting in my room just trying to think of what to do with my life next and what not to do, I hate lying but sometimes you have to lie so you don 't hurt the ones close to you. There also has been some bad memories at my home too because when I was 3 my dad left and I haven 't seen him since, he didn 't make an attempt to even try to see me. There were times where my siblings got hurt, such as my brother breaking his wrist, and pulling out his teeth on the trampoline. I myself haven 't gotten seriously injured while at my house and I don 't plan to anytime soon. Even though there has been rough times while at my special place I call home, I’ve got through them. We’ve all had rough times at home but as long as you have a loving family that will be there for you then everything will be fine. Family is what will keep you from losing all hope because that is what you are living

When you hear the word home, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it the place where you were raised, or where you’re currently residing? Do you think of something more emotional such as a person that you are most comfortable with, perhaps even yourself? Different people have different definitions of the word home. Homer uses it in a more literal way in his epic poem “The Odyssey” and Oliver used the word in a more spiritual way in her poem “The Journey”.…

The crisp breeze rustled my hair as I walked out of my house on the fall September day with my dad drilling instructions into my head. It was my first Little League baseball game ever, and my dad wanted to make sure it wasn’t my last. Being seven years old and never touching a baseball was something that had scared me; a lot. I had no idea what to think about this foreign, petrifying, game could possibly be about. The car ride from my house was only a few minutes away from the fields where I would begin my baseball career.…

To live in a brand new place and feel at home is difficult, but to do it alone is much more difficult. I wander the streets constantly trying to find something or someone that can ground me to this place that I am now living in. Walking around these cobble stone streets. I constantly look around for something that reminds me of home. I try to align something from Florence like the bittersweet smell of coffee, the egg glazed pastries and the warm smell of fresh bread to my place at home.…
