Home Schooling: The Most Reasonable Option Deciding what is right for a child can be a very difficult decision to make. The choice to homeschool or send a child to public school can affect the child for the rest of their life. Many parents decide to send their child to either public school, private school or homeschool strictly because of their beliefs or for the child’s best interest. Typically the best choice is to homeschool the child, because it is far more beneficial in the actuality they get more of the one-on-one attention they need, the guarantee of the type of education the child will receive and the assurance that the child will remain out of harms way. Homeschooling is a parent-led, old traditional education method that is practiced around the world (NHERI.) There are about 2.2 million home-educated students in the United States (NHERI.) Reasons for making the decision to homeschool are numerous. One of the most common reason parents decide to homeschool is because it is in the child 's best interest. Many children are diagnosed with Autism or Cancer and are unable to learn in the public school environment or they are slower to learn and fall behind. There are also the children that are gifted and learn a lot faster than others and, being in a slow moving class does no justice for them.
