Home Depot has three different categories of target consumers. First, is the do-it-yourselfer, “ these customers buy products and install them for themselves using online or in-store resources” (Home Depot’s Target Market and Customer Base, 2015). Second, the do-it-for-me customer, “ looking for third parties to provide installation services. Home Depot provides several installation services including flooring, cabinets, in-house consulting, and installation services” (Home Depot’s Target Market and Customer Base, 2015). Third, is the professional customer, this “ includes contractors, builders, traders, interior designers, and renovators” (Home Depot’s Target Market and Customer Base, 2015). Demographically, Home Depot recognizes that their target consumers typically live in suburbia and have made an attempt to broaden their geographic reach to the inner city. “ We also have smaller The Home Depot Stores located primarily in densely populated inner city markets and also suburban areas. We want to be sure that we are catering to all markets therefore we have alternatively formatted stores to fit individual communities,” (The Home Depot, 2015). …show more content…
This demographic has seen a lot of growth in their interest in crafting, creating, designing and DIY projects. She has earned a bachelor’s degree or higher with an income between $50,000-$80,000 in the middle class. The target consumer is a homeowner who is married and may have between 1-3 children. The psychographic analysis of the target consumer shows that she is a young adult to middle age busy working mother with interests in crafting, restoring, and renovating. Her personality could be described as creative, innovative, driven, inspired, and a hobby crafter. Behavioristically, she frequents the Home Depot several times a week; she is invested in the free clinics and seminars to help her complete her latest
