Home Depot competes internally on anyalytics by employing analytical studies in various areas of internal operation. For example, analytics were used to determine how to encourage a team mentality among associates and train them form long term growth within the company. Home Depot has expansive training systems which not only allow for cross training within departments but also prepares associates to move into leadership roles as managers or even executives. To accomplish this fete, HD has invested in the expertise of retail consultant company, MapInfo. “MapInfo’s consultants provide a site selection strategy for HD’s “mega store” format: large asles; varied inventory; comprehensive in-store centers, such as the garden and home decorating centers; all under one roof.
