Home Analysis

Home is a very broad topic for an essay, but not as broad for me. I have lived in the same house in Cary since I was born in 1996. I have never been out of the country and the longest that I have been out of the Raleigh area is a week. Kind of dull, but living in one place my whole life really solidifies what I call home. When I move out it will be harder to call my new house home. There are significant characteristics and people that make my home special which are my family, my friends, and the location. My family makes up a large portion of what I call home. Both of my parents are somewhat introverted, quiet, and slightly awkward; my father being an engineer and my mother a stay-at-home mom. As a result, my house is relatively quiet most of the time with the exception of the television being on, a little bit of talking, or my sister being my sister. I also have an aunt and uncle that live five minutes away from my house. We are always in communication with one another, and we see each other almost every weekend. I consider them to be almost as close as my mother and father. They were there when I was born, and have been with me throughout my childhood helping along the way. The rest of my family is not as close, but we are as close as we could be. They all live in central New York. We try to visit them a couple of times a year, but recently it has been more like once per year around Christmas time. I consider my family in New York to be an extension of my home. I have grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and second cousins all living in New York and I know them well despite the location difference. I am really grateful to have a family that is close. Not a lot of people in America have close a family because of the exceedingly high divorce
