Concordia Christian Day School is made up of hard-working, loving, and dedicated staff. One teacher's assistants is loving, dedicated, and a hard worker and her name is Mrs. Welch. She is a very interesting and sacrificing women with more than meets the eye. Her favorite food is salad, because she has a gluten and dairy allergy which prevents her from eating most foods. Kolev, Kaloyan Writing Assignment One 9/8 The Sermon on the Mount 10/05/2015 Medieval European History The second most important teaching of The Sermon on the Mount is that God’s followers should not worry about food or clothing, because life is much more than that. Jesus assures the people that if they serve their Father, they will be able to “seek and find” everything they need to live a comfortable life (7:8).…
Does your school have a Spirit week? At konawaena high this is a one week of school pride and enjoyment in a standard school calendar year. This years Spirit week is composed of pajamas day, retro day, identical twin day, dynamic duo day, and everyone in Green day respectively. moreover it doesn't matter what themes a school chooses for Spirit week it depends on the amount of Spirit that is put into each day. Overall spirit week is chiefly significant due to school pride, higher morale, and social reasons.…
Once again, Clark H. Pinnock opens wide my eyes to the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the world through the church. He highlights the need for the church to be empowered by the Spirit in order to complete God’s mission. For example, Pinnock says, “Like Jesus, the church must live not out of its own resources but by the power of the indwelling Spirit, which breathes, strengthens, inspires and guides” (Pinnock 115). This is a huge reminder for me not to depend on the world’s ideas or even my personal talent to communicate the Gospel; but rather, allow the Spirit to work through me. Also, there is a temptation within churches; and even the church I lead, to get “butts in seats” through fancy tactics rather than having people filled with the…
574 The Holy Spirit is teaching me how to teach and preach with inspiration and anointing, and what 575 to do and what not to do to flow with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes there is more inspiration and 576 anointing and sometimes less. I am really in a learning experience. 577 About three o’clock, Barbara and I went down to the ocean to go swimming, but when we got 578 there one of the boys was on the beach fishing, so we watched. He had a long stick (about seven feet 579 long) with several sharp prongs on the end like a pitchfork, and with this he was spearing some small 580 fish.…
What my husband's advancement to Chief Petty Officer means to me? The answer of that question could be 10 pages long or I could just resume what I feel in one word, "extremely proud", well I guess two words. I met Christian 16 years ago, he was full of energy, funny, and he had the ability to turn any sad or bad situation into a joke making everybody laugh; that is what make me fell in love with him. On the other hand, he was a little immature, unfocused when it comes to work, and nothing seemed to fulfill his expectations. I always knew that his passion was a career in the military, but that was out of question in my book!…
A couple weeks ago, Holy Ghost had its annual service trip to the Dominican Republic. I had heard about the trip from Dr. O’Connor when I did the summer enrichment program in 6th grade. I looked forward to going on the trip when I got to Ghost, and I got the chance this summer. At first I was really nervous, but by the second day there I realized how special the trip truly is. I got to give my Spanish a jog, I got to meet a ton of new people, and I had my eyes opened to a new way of living.…
Benchmark Assignment: Gospel Essentials What am I meant to do in this world? Many people ponder this question as they grow up and begin to make an impact on the realm around them. As people mature they start to form their view of the world, understand their purpose and behave accordingly (DiVinceno 2014). There are many worldviews throughout the earth and each have their own history and influence.…
Spirit week is a time for people to show their spirit for the school they go to, but is it necessary. Most school around the country have a week once a school year where people can participate in certain activities to show off their school spirit. Do schools really need it though. Even though students can express their school spirit, spirit week is not educational, can be a distraction, and is not particularly popular. For these reasons i believe that spirit week is not needed.…
he will be defeated he is trying his best to destroy as much as he possibly can before his time is up. It would be ignorant to pretend an evil realm or form does not exist after reading warning like that in the Bible. People in the west are desensitized to the idea of a spiritual realm. This theology brings light to a reality that too many people are oblivious to.…
“School”, a word that many young children and adults hate to hear or speak. In elementary and high school, students attend classes seven hours a day, five days a week, nine months out of the year. Going to an institution of education is a youth’s full time job. Learning becomes the only thing important in their lives and they are required to devote a large majority of their time to it. Spending almost 12 years of my life in a school, it has had a large influence on my life.…
The Life and Times of St. John the Divine: St John was part of a time when many living people still remembered Jesus Christ, and had seen and encountered him. It was also at this time, about 60 years after the crucifixion, that Christianity was a Jewish sect, trying to survive the horrors of living under Roman rule. The emperors in that time were cruel and masochistic men, of vast power and desires, and notoriously short tempers. And the one that stood out among them was Nero- the Emperor at the time that John wrote Revelations.…
“Set your affections on things above; love one another; commune at the table of our Lord in one spirit; worship in spirit and in truth; and if daily adoring, imploring, and living the divine Life, Truth, Love, thou shalt partake of the bread that cometh down from heaven, drink of the cup of salvation, and be baptized in Spirit,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy in 1898 (Christian Science Versus Pantheism). Mrs. Eddy (as she is colloquially referred to by her followers) was the woman who came to found the Christian Science religion, based on the metaphysical New Thought movement, in 1879 (Christian Science, “What is Christian Science?”). For individuals who are born into the modern Christian Science church, understanding the concept of “divinity” in the…
In this essay, I will be talking about what I believe to be true from what Jesus tells us in the Bible, about being the Son of God and how He was here to die on the cross for our sins, showing everyone who He was and who ever believe in Him is save, or healed if they were sick. In this paper, I will be talking about the trustworthiness and historicity of the Gospels. The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and did Jesus claim to be God. Did his disciples believe he was God? The accuracy of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels, that is, did Jesus rise bodily from the dead?…
Ever since I was a little girl, I have attended church. My family has always gone, even before my sister and I were born. They would take us every week and raised us as Godly girls. Growing up in church had its ups and downs, but for me there were many more ups and positive aspects of church in my life.…
