Holy Smoke My Neglect

On a personal level outside of my academics I have always been a thinker. However throughout my academic journey I have learned to dig beyond the surface and ask “why?” when analyzing particular matters at hand. While watching the film Holy Smoke my thoughts were jumping from place to place; I found myself confused most of the time. When I would conclude one thought, I would then jump to a whole new conclusion; needless to say I was all over the place with my thoughts and will probably still be by the end of my time reflecting on this film.
The one thought of mine that managed to remain consistent throughout the whole film was the fact that Ruth’s family did not believe in her hopes of wanting to devote herself to a life of truthfulness and
