Dreaming about what one can become, a vision every child possesses at one time or another. Life’s start is a child’s first taste from the tree that symbolizes all the different roots that can be followed. A problem arises, however, when different roots are poisoned this undermines self invention by astringently limiting choices through oppression. Oppression is a state that has evolved to fit what modern society wants. The change from a kingdom’s tyrannical control to one person repressing another’s free choices, in order to make them who they want. Being labeled as a stigma detracts emotionally from a person leading to less effort being put into everything. In America, for example, there exists hatred for the LGBT community and especially homosexuals. Even when In America where many rainbows are allowed to reach their pot of gold, there still exists quite a few doomsayers to the happy endings.According to the CDC, “ A nationally representative study of adolescents in grades 7–12 found that lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth were more than twice as likely to have attempted suicide as their heterosexual peers.”("LGBT Youth." Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). If a person is afraid of being persecuted for their identity, how are they, in safe mind, supposed to do anything? People’s discrimination against identification can ruin an entire person’s entire life. Potentially never able to be safe In school, a workplace, even public places could harbor horrible experiences. A child may never able to develop normally just because they identify as LGBT. If a child is traumatically oppressed then what will the rest of their life be like? All these potential lives could be astoundingly amazing if people did not worry about arbitrary characters of others and just accepted people for who they are. A seed must be allowed to expand and grow its roots to be able to experience anything in life, but if identification and then growth is never allowed then a life might just
