In orthodox Christianity, we worship God as a Triune Being (Trinity). He is One God in three Persons. Satan from the very beginning in Genesis has been tempting and deceiving man into thinking that there is a better way. This comes in many different forms but the goal is always the same: a rejection of God and His sovereignty over His creation. As we have the genuine, we also have the counterfeit. As we have the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we also have a satanic trinity: Satan, Antichrist and False Prophet. As the Holy Spirit today works power and miracles on behalf of Jesus Christ, so too it will be with the False Prophet, who will work power and miracles on behalf of the Antichrist. This is demonstrated by the Pharaohs’ magicians, …show more content…
Many people, including myself, have thought it was the Antichrist who was the one that creates the image of the beast and its mark. Not so. It is the False Prophet that sets up these things. He is Satan’s go-to being to ensure that the Antichrist is positioned as the central ruler of the world. Satan’s the god of this world-system in all of its man-centered fallenness (2 Cor. 4:4). Essentially both Jesus Christ and the Antichrist are offered the same thing by Satan: all the kingdoms of the world (see Matthew 4:9). But to God, these kingdoms are nothing more than beasts. That’s why both Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 represent them as various beasts. Jesus answered Satan’s temptations by scripture. He refused his offer. The Antichrist will gladly accept his offer. As a result, Satan will assure that he is the center of all the world’s commerce (money), power and worship. If I had to boil it down to just three things Donald Trump seeks, it’s money, power and worship. Verses 16 and 17 deal with the money part. I discuss the Mark in other sections but to reiterate, the Mark of the Beast is a system of commerce. There will be no money, no checks, no credit cards or even online purchases or sales. All transactions, buying and selling will be done through the Mark of the Beast. You hungry? If you’re going to buy food, you better have the Mark. You cannot own a home, drive a car, rent a hotel room, even go to the hospital without the Mark. If a Mark-type of system was controlled by righteous being, it might be an effective tool for good. Terrorism can’t survive without cash. Neither can criminal drug (or gun) dealers. Crooked activity of any sort involving money will be nearly impossible. Of course, the Mark will stop nuclear proliferation as well. It’s brilliant. If Satan bombards the world with enough tragedy like terrorism or war, that same desperate world will beg for ANY system that will save it

Scripture says, “The women sang as they played, and said, ‘Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.’” (1 Sam. 8:7) David here is a type of Christ who would later have His own triumphal entry into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. Paul’s Thorn in the Flesh There have been many thoughts as to what Paul meant by thorn in the flesh, numerous thoughts advocated that it is impossible to determine Paul's condition with complete accuracy. Most people believe it was a physical disorder seems more likely, unfortunately the lack of details makes it impossible to make to determine the complaint of the thorn. Paul states, unless I should be exalted above measure though an abundance of revelations there was given me a messenger of Satan to torment him the present irony can be compared to that of the story of Job. Satan was permitted to afflict God's servant, yet only within the limits set by God.…

Fr. Mark Link, SJ’s, The Spiritual Exercise, is a short article that compares the differences between the two strategies of how Satan and Jesus affect people in our world today. The two strategies go in great depth and explicitly explain how each strategy brings people closer (or farther) to the Kingdom of God. In The Spiritual Exercise, these strategies are identified as the “path of light” and the “path of darkness.” The “path of light” is the way of life in which a person adheres to Jesus’s strategy of goodwill and is not attached to “worldly possessions, pleasures, and honors.”…

It is safe to say I have read a few books on eschatology/prophecy (study of the last things). Many describe The Antichrist as a mastermind without differentiating between a mastery that stems from wisdom and understanding, and a “cunning” that proceeds from craftiness and wickedness. They are not the same. The latter is a mastery of foolishness. The Antichrist is anti-Christ.…

Matthew writes about an encounter between Satan and Jesus. This occurred when Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights. Satan tried to tempt him and get him to make a mistake in an attempt to bring Jesus down to his level by making him no longer perfect and without sin. We find this account in Matthew chapter 4 “Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect you.…

Let us understand that satan is a deceiver and the “father of lies” (John 8:44). In Jesus Olivet discourse he warned us from the beginning about counterfeit Christanity (Matt. 24:4-5) “Jesus answered: watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, I am the Messiah, and will deceive many.” We can see that if it started in the beginning, then the antichrist will show his ugliness until the coming of Christ.…

No other man, woman, child, or creature can stand in His presence and be on equal footing. C.S. Lewis states this, and I truly believe that the majority of Christians would believe this also. This belief in itself makes all believers discard the idea of Dualism. Their idea of equality between the two beings would place Satan on an equal level as God. Through the entirety of the Bible, we are never treated to stories of Satan conquering God, or Satan foiling God’s plans, or anything of the sort.…

There are many types of religions in the world, all in which different cultures believe in. It is one thing to be raised and taught to believe in a “God” but it is an other thing when that “God” is proven real. Many people believe in a “higher power” but do not want to classify that “higher power” so that it does not change their lifestyle or their behaviour. Humans like to be comfortable in their own skin, with their own beliefs, therefore, they will try and convince themselves in what they believe is real for their own comfort. In that case, couldn 't that be very scary if they are wrong?…
