Holy Bible Challenge Me Research Paper

Improved Essays
The Holy Bible is the only literature that continues to challenge me. The bible is made of two different texts, the first focuses primarily on the Hebrew Bible and is called the Old Testament, while the second New Testament, focuses on Jesus's many teachings and actions; both these texts are believed in the Christian faith, but it has been the New Testament that has challenged me the most lately. Faith, that's one of Jesus's many teachings, he says with faith as small as a mustard seed you could move mountains, but is that as easy as it sounds? To have faith that small seems like an easy feat, but for me it is the hardest challenge I could hope to overcome. The worst part of this challenge is that I don't want to believe my faith is so

Due to my working hours, l can’t be there when my son’s come home from school, so my wife will have them call me at work shortly after they arrive. When my son’s and I converse generally we talk about the events of their day. recently my oldest son (13) calls and tells me of a bully who has called him names and my son is asking what he should do, how should he respond? It was during this conversation that the words of Jesus from John 15 ran through my mind: 18 “If the world hates you, [e]you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.…

Though many believers will negate the important effect that their worldviews have on their lives, their worldviews function as a critical pivotal point by which they understand and relate with the rest of the world and by which they motivate themselves. Since humans unconsciously rely on past experience and knowledge to prompt their next move, a worldview provides a lens of understanding through which past perceptions reveal how to understand the present reality. However, many people like to bury their heads in the sand, so to speak, when it comes to acknowledging their worldview’s impact or changing a fault in their worldview. Unfortunately, these people are like someone who refuses to wear corrective lenses, and whose gaze is therefore obscured…

The Gospels of The New Oxford Annotated Bible aim to tell of the life of Jesus Christ. The authors build the narratives around the Father-Son relationship of God and Jesus because of how much of an impact God’s sacrifice has on Jesus’ ministry. “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (John 3:16). Throughout the book of John, Jesus repeatedly says that he is the Son of God, the Son of Man, and God. If Jesus is both the Son of God and God, then it follows that God himself is the Son of Man as well.…

One way that it is important to recognize that my worldview influences my desires is that if my worldview is flawed, I may commit illicit acts while believing that my actions are justifiable. For instance, if my worldview includes an appreciation for polygamy, if I were to practice polygamy, I would believe that the practice is appropriate. Conversely, if I held a biblical worldview, specifically that man is to exclusively have one wife, I would strive to solely practice monogamy and reject polygamy. Furthermore, a biblical worldview will influence my desires to increasingly love God, while increasingly hating sin.…

Sherry, You wrote some good information on your DB post on the Bible and it’s prophecy. I would like to start off saying the Bible contains various types of prophecies. Prophecies that comes to pass in a single generation can be true, but many not constitute proof to a later generation. A funny thing happens when the Bible is believed. “Set your affections on things above; love one another; commune at the table of our Lord in one spirit; worship in spirit and in truth; and if daily adoring, imploring, and living the divine Life, Truth, Love, thou shalt partake of the bread that cometh down from heaven, drink of the cup of salvation, and be baptized in Spirit,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy in 1898 (Christian Science Versus Pantheism). Mrs. Eddy (as she is colloquially referred to by her followers) was the woman who came to found the Christian Science religion, based on the metaphysical New Thought movement, in 1879 (Christian Science, “What is Christian Science?”). In this essay, I will be talking about what I believe to be true from what Jesus tells us in the Bible, about being the Son of God and how He was here to die on the cross for our sins, showing everyone who He was and who ever believe in Him is save, or healed if they were sick. In this paper, I will be talking about the trustworthiness and historicity of the Gospels. The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and did Jesus claim to be God. Did his disciples believe he was God? The accuracy of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels, that is, did Jesus rise bodily from the dead?…

Many Christians today struggle to define the right relationship with God. We often do not believe that we need to follow God’s instructions or the words from the chose prophets in the Old Testaments. Old testaments were written many centuries ago. Christians nowadays often conclude that the instructions and words of God from the Old testaments are too old to be reflected with their daily Christian living in 21st centuries. Instead of ignoring the importance of Old testaments, we need to reinterpret in modern words and absorb the teachings from the Old Testaments.…
