What would you do when you see something that is displaced from its original place? would you put it back to the original place or pretend like you did not see it? Well, it depends on the person, some people don't care at all. However, someone might think it looks better in the new place. The collection of poems conflict resolution for Holy Beings by Joy Harjo has lots of awesome poems that show great examples of displacement. Her poem is very deep and meaning about Native American that I had never read or heard before. The word “displacement” might differ from person to person based on their understanding and their life experiences. Each of her open is very deep. It made me think beyond and kept me interested. In the “imagine if we natives went to the cemeteries”, Harjo gave a perfect example saying you will never understand someone's struggles and pain until you are the one feeling it. European never respected natives even after the death, in fact, they treated them like slaves. Took their land from them by force and made it theirs. In the “Rabbit Is Up to Tricks” Harjo compared a Rabbit to the God and Clay man as a human. she explained that Human tend to be narrow-minded and greedy by nature. Human is not only greedy on money, in fact, we are greedy for everything. For example, if someone is giving us love and care, we would not be appreciative and fulfilled of the love and care we received from them rather we will want more than before. The human were not created by mistake, they make mistake after coming to this earth. If a human were created by mistake then we would have a hard time judging a person in this world. Sometimes everyone makes mistakes in life; sometimes we do wrong things, things that have a terrible outcome. But it doesn't mean that we are malevolent or we can't be trusted ever again. Nobody is perfect, People make bad choices but it doesn't mean they are bad. They learn from the past mistakes and make their future better. Everyone is different and has a purpose for coming to the world. Harjo said, "everyone comes to the world with a job to do" (126). I believe that mistakes are given to human because we came to this world to do our job and to make ourselves strong. We learn and realize our errors, so we can shape our days and future without repeating the same mistakes. According to Phillip Deere and Joy Harjo, Only the Indian people are the original people of / America” (1-2). After reading this poem I got one question popped in my brain that is Indian only the American? I disagree because I think the author used the word “only” which made me think he is describing “only” to Indian. We have many people who are patriots of the United States and can do anything to protect the country. Like; shoulders, police officers, and those heroes of this country who are not native American.
