3.9. Development of the Interview Questions
Holstein and Gubrium (2002) stated that interviews are a way of generating empirical data about the life of people in the social world by asking them as special types of conversations. The interviews were contained of two schedules, one for the instructors, and one for administrators. Both schedules were open-ended questions. They covered three parts:
Part A included participants‟ demographic questions such as gender, years of working in profession, years of working at university, and graduate degrees received. Hence, the sample has limited generalizability to the greater population of instructors, administrators, and coordinators in universities of Iraq.
Secondly, the data collection method in this research study was through interviews. There are other forms that data could be collected through various means such as multiple interviews or focus groups with participants that would enable the researcher to carry out deeper analysis, but due to small number of instructors and administrators in English departments at universities it was not accessible to apply the other forms of means as
