The film is set in Poland right at the time of the beginning of the holocaust. The film is focused around a very humble and happy polish family who owns the biggest zoo in their town. They occupy many animals in the zoo . The animals are family to them a prized possession. One day a bomb comes in and hits the zoo the place is wrecked. Animals are hurt and the scene is scaring. Everyone in the town freaks out and does not know what to do so, they listen to the guards who tell them to go home. The Germans come the next morning and every morning after that collecting Jewish people and taking them into captivity. The Zookeeper's family continued to live in the zoo while the remaining animals were taken up to a safer place till the war was over. The zookeeper himself was a trash collector He collects trash for the whole city. He also collects trash from the buildings were the jews are being held. In this place he sees the horror of how they are treated he tries to sneak them out in his garbage truck. Although the family is polish and is not taken by the Germans they are still living the horror because their place was destroyed and they watched hundreds of people they knew were taken by the Germans. All perspectives have the same general ideas, But in this case it was the small tweaked details that mattered. I learned a lot of new information about the holocaust from reading the book “NIGHT’ and watching the film “ The Zookeeper's Wife” It brought up many new points to the holocaust and I was able to imagine and see some new images of what it was like. It also shifted how I think about the holocaust and my point of view. I know everyone has a different opinion, But I would highly recommend reading this book and watching the film it taught me a
