MILLERSBURG — A local woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly conspired with a Millersburg man to assault and restrain her boyfriend, preventing him from leaving an apartment at which they were staying temporarily.
Jamie L. Spears, 26, who is currently without a permanent address, is charged in Holmes County Municipal Court with abduction and domestic violence. The abduction charge is a third-degree felony punishable by up to three years in prison.
Spears, who remains incarcerated in the Holmes County Jail, with bond set at $10,000, is next scheduled to appear in court for a Feb. 23 preliminary hearing.
The Millersburg Police Department was dispatched to a 3:06 a.m. call for assistance made by Spears' 19-year-old boyfriend, who reported he was being chased by her.
On arrival, officers were told by the victim that he and Spears had been virtually homeless for several days and had gone to the apartment of Vernon Wilson, 54, 101 Lakeview Drive, Apt. F-38, Millersburg, to get warm and eat,

He said he screamed for help, but his calls went unanswered, said Vaughn.
The victim also told officers Spears strangled him and grabbed him, preventing him from escaping out of a window and the door, said Vaughn, adding that during this contact a lens popped out of the man's glasses.
Eventually, the man said he was able to slip out of her grip and escape through the apartment door, said Vaughn.
Questioned about the allegations, Wilson confirmed the victim's suggestion Spears kept the victim from leaving the apartment, but he admitted to no direct involvement himself. Spears refused to provide a statement to police.
Although he was not arrested at the time, Wilson has since been charged in Holmes County Municipal Court with a single count of unlawful restraint. If convicted of the third-degree misdemeanor, he faces up to 60 days in jail and a $500
