Built in the 1930s by the civilian conservation corps, it has brought a spirit to the park that no one could have imagined. The lodge is built out of multi-hued sandstone and white oak timber. Each of these main building materials were native to land. The lodge provides breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. The lodge also provides areas for individuals who would like to host special events, banquets, and meetings. The meal that they are most known for is the all-you-can-eat Family style chicken dinner. Along with the dinning, the lodge also features bar, gift shop, historic area, and guest cabin for individuals who want a quiet getaway. In 1981, the Kelly family became the 6th owner of the lodge.

The have handicap ramps in the front and back entrances to the lodge. They also have a handicap lift located in the back of the lodge. Inside the lodge, the doors ways to the dining and the bathrooms are easily accessible for handicap individuals. They also have plenty of emergency systems located throughout the lodge showing individuals where the exits are for an emergency. When serving food, the lodge likes to make sure that the individuals eating and the servers have plenty of room to work. There is a double door that directly off the line for the servers to use when bringing out the food. When serving the food, the servers will walk the main pathways as they are most efficient ways to move around the lodge. They do not have any problems serving food this way because the pathways are large and leave plenty of room for individuals.
The lodge also likes to make sure each individual is comfortable during the whole time while they are eating. They have a main HVAC system that helps controls the air flow of the building. Despite the building being built in the 1930s, they have been able to maintain a good HVAC system. Along with the HVAC system, the lodge likes to keep a well-lit area in the lodge and outside of the lodge.
