Holes Book report In the book Holes, Stanley, and Zero are the main characters. Stanley went to Camp Green Lake because he stole Priceless’s shoes and it was a punishment. When Stanley got to Camp Green Lake all they did was did holes. And some squid told him that the fifth hole is hard to dig. They fell asleep at nine-o’clock PM and they had to wake up at four-o’clock the next morning to finish their digging their holes. In the beginning of the story Stanley became friends with Zero when he got to Camp Green Lake. His peers at Camp Green Lake gave him the nickname of “Caveman.” The reason why they gave him that nickname is because everyone had a nickname and he was like caveman to them. The author did not talk about the nicknames too

Right after that Stanley saw a sign on the gold brick that said J.B. He then gave the gold brick to X-ray; X-ray then gave the gold brick to the warden. When the warden realized that it was real gold he instructed everyone in the camp to starting digging in the hopes he would find more gold bricks. One day on a cloudy day, Stanley was digging and he looked up in the sky and saw a lightning bolt hit the top of a mountain. When he looked up he realized there was a big thumb what appeared to be carved into the mountain. After a while the thumb carved into the mountain disappeared. Then Mr. Sir drove up in his truck and gave all of the people water. Later on, the warden called lunchtime, and all of the people went into the cafeteria. They all got their food, but Stanley refused to eat because the food tasted terrible to him. Stanley and Zero escaped the lake and they thought it was the end of the lake, but it wasn’t because they arrived at the camp. Stanley confessed to the warden that he was the one that found the brick. The warden quickly told Stanley to dig in the same spot that he found the gold brick. One day a stranger arrives at the camp with a briefcase that says Stanley on it. The stranger approaches the warden requesting to talk to Stanley. He talks to Stanley; quickly Stanley realizes that it was his lawyer. His lawyer helps Stanley get out of Camp Green
