Hold A Fire Arm In School Essay

Decent Essays
There was this school shooting at a place called sandy hook elementary school. Which a lot of children got killed it was so devastating. Except if they had a teacher who was trained to with stand a intruder the devastating incident would have never happen. They probably would have stoped the intruder before he could have done any damage.

Most people disagree with the subject of a teacher having or holding a fire arm in there class room. I am on the side of I think teachers should be able to hold a fire arm in there class. The first reason I think a teacher should hold a fire arm in there class is so they can keep the students safe if there was ever a intruder. Some people would say that it would be to dangerous for the kids to be in school

Which is the best idea from my point of view some might say different but I don't think so. In the generation we live in now there are so many people going and causing school shooting. Because they really don't care on hurting people or even children. Which I think is so terrible specially for the parents that lose there kids in school shooting. When they think there children will be safe when they send them to school in the morning.

Another thing I think what could keep kids safe in school even if we get teachers to hold fire arms in there class room. Is if when someone comes in to the school they should have to go straight to the office if it's a visitor of some sort. Like have someone standing near the door at all times and if it's a visitor take them to the office so they know where there going. Some people would think this is crazy but it's actually safe so they know what there doing here and knows they go straight to the office. Instead of going near the class room and being a school

Also they could keep everyone around them from getting hurt or something like what happen at sandy hook elementary school. Because that was the most devastating thing that has happen to a school and to

This year alone there have been over twenty mass shootings (“2018 School Shootings”, Para. 1). Mass shootings have been a major problem for decades, it all started with the shooting at Columbine the most famous one. Ever since that shooting things have been spiraling out of control with no fix. The fix that we have needed for decades was arming teachers. Teachers should most definitely be armed because it would prevent more people from being killed, deter shooters from entering schools in the first place, and increase school safety overall.…

Although on a rare occasion there may be an iniquitous teacher, the vast majority are benevolent people who are willing to save lives. In various deadly situations of the past, teachers have saved lives by the means of a gun. Because a gun was easily accessible, a Missouri teacher stopped a shooter who “killed two students and wounded seven others at a high school” (Malcolm, 2016, p. 6). However, due to current gun-free zones, the likelihood that a teacher has access to a gun is very slim. By providing every teacher with a gun, more situations like that of Missouri would occur, rather than more situations like the Connecticut shooting at…

There are many alternatives but as many may not work we have to keep trying to solve these problems. Many thing will fail to stop mass shootings but we’ve got to find something. We cannot turn to something as dangerous as guns on school property it would create an even bigger problem. They had a buzz-in system at Sandy Hook, but it did them no good at all, the guy shot his way in. School-associated student homicide rates decreased significantly after the federal laws restricting guns in schools were adopted in the early 1990s, and fewer students are carrying guns.…

The majority of new policies are met with a mixture of praise and criticism. However, it would be a challenge to find any teacher who does not believe it is his or her responsibility to protect the students. Allowing teachers to be armed in the classroom would increase the likelihood of everyone surviving if an active shooter enters the room because it would provide additional protection if the teachers are properly trained. Knowing any of us could be armed by making this policy public knowledge could make the possibility of that shooter entering the building even less likely. Hopefully no school will ever need to evaluate if this was the right decision or not, but in case that day does come, it would be better to determine the effectiveness of allowing teachers to be armed than having to determine how to attend a dozen students’ funerals or leaving my family to plan…

Also do you think a student would be able to look at a teacher the same after they saw them shoot a person the kids would be tarfided. As already stated everyone is dangerous but people do not realize how dangerous they are until they have blood on their hands. This would also greatly affect their career and if the teacher moved it would be hard to get a job because this would be on their permanent record and the educational board wherever they are will not want to hire someone who is dangerous whether it is in self defence or not. Another thing is what would happen if a student where to get ahold of the gun think of how much damage they could cause with…

School systems have changed drastically throughout the United States. One of the main causes for this change is due to the tragedy that took place on April 20, 1999. Columbine High School students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, murdered 12 students and one teacher and injured 21 additional students. The highly planned and intricate attack involved a fire bomb to divert firefighters, propane tanks converted to bombs placed in the cafeteria, 99 explosive devices, and car bombs. The pair eventually took their own lives once they completed their task.…
