I have worked with Graduate SGA since 2009, working with eight other graduate coordinators; Sang is the most dedicated student I have had the pleasure to work. The event was over a year in the planning, execution, wrap-up, and proposals for CRIDC 2019 are already in place based on Sang’s 2018 recommendations.

Sang was the primary Graduate SGA contact person and organizer for CRIDC. Sang lead the way to in encouraging the CRIDC committee to consider expanding CRIDC to a two-day event. As a result two panels were added: Women in STEM and Navigating the Work-Visa Landscape.

Sang was contacted high level administrator’s encouraging them to donate monies for poster competition. Sang raised $ 72,000 for the poster competition, more than last year. He also recruited and organized over 120 alumni, faculty and staff to serve as poster judges for the poster competition.

The year’s CRIDC was the most successful event ever held! Much of that success can be attributed to Sang’s excellent communication skills and ability to include and motivate students and student organizations across campus to participate and support this event. Sang was able to coordinate a communication plan to keep graduate students and graduate student organizations informed of the progress and solicited support for

During my sophomore year as an undergraduate at the University of South Carolina, I was accepted into the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. I do not exaggerate when I say that this program changed the entire course of my life: helping me to fully understand my interests, altering my professional goals, and providing me with a viable path for my passions. As a first generation student, I had very little knowledge about how to navigate the sphere of undergraduate education and in the same vein, I knew next to nothing about graduate school. Before McNair I was never aware of what graduate school could offer me and the program, and the people it connected me with, became my greatest source of support as I made the journey into pursuing my doctorate.…

Ullman encourages women to never give up and fight for their dreams. Her motivational words have been inspired by her past experience of harassment and discrimination. Through her hardships, she has grown and shaped the successful woman she is today. Ullman will be shocked to learn that the percentage of women in the Computer Programming field has dropped to 21 percent, but surprisingly the percentage of women in Management and Professional Occupations, have dominated with 57.2 percent (“Labor Force”). Kaplan, on the other hand, questions the school systems of how they are focusing all their attention on inspiring and preparing young women to be successful and lack the time and resources to motivate the young men to pursue a higher education.…

It established that females are smart and intelligent, talented, and prepared for anything. The Times also noted that “ Both schools have shown no real disparity in men’s and women’s performance. Students at Columbia, though, have compiled a petition asking the school to hire more female faculty.” This suggests that more women faculty were required at universities and…

In 2016, the Democratic party nominated American politician Hillary Clinton for President of the United States in the upcoming election. Senator Clinton became the first woman to achieve Presidential nomination, validating the growth in women equality. Though we see maximum feminist achievement in the political arena, the oppression of women is still prevalent in fields such as math and science. While some Universities and large corporations fund attractive programs for women interested in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), social prejudice pressure continues to stifle equality. Lois Tyson claims traditional gender roles convince women that they are not fit for careers in such areas as mathematics and engineering…

This report requested by Michele Bartosek pertains to the Alpha Kappa Psi Career Fair, hosted at Central Michigan University (CMU). While attending my first CMU career fair, I was not actively seeking an internship, but rather gaining experience and building my network. When I walked into Finch Fieldhouse, I did not expect there to be 143 tables worth of future employers, all squeezed into one gym. Although the Alpha Kappa Psi career fair was extremely overwhelming and stressful, it was beneficial to go as a freshman to understand what I can improve on at the next career fair. I understand the importance of many potential employers attending this event at this venue to maximize the opportunity for the students, however having so many people…
