Hodgkin's lymphoma being a lymph node-based disease, it is a type of lymphoma in which a cancer originates from white blood cells called lymphocytes. (Guha et al., 2016) Hodgkin’s lymphoma has been classified in to two groups; classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cHL) and nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NLPHL). cHL is separated in to the following four subtypes: Lymphocyte rich type, nodular sclerosis type, mixed cellularity type and lymphocyte depleted type. NLPHL is rare and accounts for only 5% of all Hodgkin’s lymphoma. (Hansmann, ML and Willenbrock K,2016) Classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma is characterized by the presence of Hodgkin Reed-Sternberg and lymphocyte-predominant cells in NLPHL. (Steidl,, 2016)
