Flirting described by Hock (pages107-109) was simplified, as it has evolved and become more complex in the modern world. The way Hock described the five step process of The Approach, Talk, Swivel and Turn, Touch, and Synchronization seems to be an example from an action film similar too James Bond. A large amount of modern flirting takes place over social media and through technology. Liking or commenting on a person’s post or pictures is a great example, but not an excessive amount, which could be frightening as in to obsessive. Hock stated, “what is most interesting about flirting is that behaviors involved in the flirtation process are quite similar in all humans and tend to follow fairly predictable patterns both in-person and online”
