Over ten years ago Sher-Wood ended its domestic production of protective equipment and began outsourcing its manufacturing and production tasks of its signature product, in 2011 hockey sticks total production was moved to China and the Ukraine. This decision was based on the fact that Sher-Wood was losing market share because of falling retail prices, which caused the company to offshore manufacturing to achieve lower production costs. Sher-Wood sells its products through retail partners, independent stores, and has international distributors who ship to professional players and fans in Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom [2].
