Music artists and bands should be able to have there music used in commercials. When a music artist has there music presented in a advertisement it allows people to hear there music and get to know what kind of music they produce. It can allow the people to get more gather more money to then go on tours. It also will get people to listen to them more and allow them to get more fame. Artists should have there music played in commercials.
When artists have there music played in commercials it brings them more money and allows them to get more recognized. For example in the text "The New Necessity in the Music Business" it says "the Black Eyed Peas, focuses on exposure before a paycheck. For years, they’ve allowed corporations to use their music in advertisements for cars, electronics, and jeans, among many other goods." Many songs are written for specific reasons. They can express how an artist feels on a certain situation or option, and in the article "Selling Out Not Worth the Risk" it says "In many situations, a record label owns the rights to an artist’s music, and if they license a song to a company or other party the artist has no control over how the song can be used." This means the song that the artist worked really hard on can be passed around for free and the musician can't get any money for the work the put in.
Yes it is possible for their music to be stolen but this is unlikely. When they put there music into adds it allows them to grow. If they aren't a big artist yet then being in a commercial can help them become something bigger. It help them earn money and get the fame they desperately need. Should the artist's music in advertise be a normal thing? I oppose this idea that the advertising business should just be able to use musician's music without their consent. There are two reasons why I don't support this idea. One reason is because Internet services that stream music are taking the place of buying the music which decreases the sales of CDs, records, and cassettes which have been sold over the years. Another reason why I don't support this idea is because any loss in album sales can be offset by touring and selling merchandise, but with rising costs and other factors this isn't enough so they need to sell albums.…
