Introduction-: I have been in interested in culinary arts from a very young age, when I helped my grandmother prepare meals in her cramped kitchen. When she passed on, I took up cooking alone by trying out recipes I found online. Beyond tweaking recipes I found, I had not really created my own recipes. This capstone project based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy was a perfect opportunity for me to explore how to create recipes and do so using natural ingredients, which are crucial in a modern world dominated by GMOs.
Body paragraph #1:

Creating recipes isn’t as hard as some might think, but it isn’t easy either. Through this experience, I discovered that designing my own recipes was a challenge that takes a considerable amount of time and patience.
B: When I created my first recipes for this project, it wasn’t easy. I had no idea how to create a recipe from scratch and using natural ingredients also proved difficult. I discovered that using honey and other natural sweeteners is very difficult because the main sweetener I use in baked goods is white sugar, which is a solid as opposed to the liquid sweeteners I used in this project. This made things hard, because it was difficult to balance out the texture while still maintaining the sweetness.
C: Though this project required a lot of rinsing and repeating, I learned that I am capable of creating healthy, tasty recipes with natural ingredients. Making things from scratch is not easy, of course. Persistence is required and it paid off once I had a finished product sitting before me. I think I need some more experience with natural sweeteners like dates and honey, but I am inspired now to experiment with them on a higher

Cú Chulainn is the standard mythological hero, therefore he fits into the mold. There is nothing that set him a part from other heroes in better word he is very generic by comparison. In order to clarify look at Bilbo Baggins and Harry Potter as an example. One is a hobbit and the other a wizard by default they don't fit the mold. Composers of Fantasy texts successfully use Fantasy conventions to engage their audience by using suspension of disbelief. Fantasy is extravagant and powerful whether it's conjured worlds, magic or anthropomorphism. Suspension of disbelief allows us to find escapism; we forget about reality and believe in the unbelievable. It draws us into a world that isn't actually real. Authors can use so much detail that readers believe that the Fantasy conventions used in the book are "real", meaning that Fantasy composers successfully use Fantasy conventions to engage their audience.…

This hobbit-hole is called home by the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, son to Belladonna Took, whose family was very prosperous yet considered to be very disreputable by other hobbits, and Bungo Baggins, whose family was a less prosperous but considered to be very respectable by other hobbits. I chose to analyze The Low-Carb Comfort Food Cookbook, I chose this book as it touches on two things, the first being the niche marketing tactics and second the innovation of cooking. This book is written by medical doctors as well as a food scientist to create a book of recipes that is aimed at providing low carb food recipes that are generally known to be high in carbs. The purpose of this was to give consumers an option to eat foods that one might not be able to do on a low carb diet, they did this by dedicating years of research to create methods of cooking that are not traditional in ‘comfort foods’. Historically foods found in the American diet such as biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and more of that sort are looked down upon as unhealthy…

Narrative Suture and Reader Engagement in The Hobbit Reader engagement is critical for the success of a novel. If a reader is not interested in the novel, it is unlikely for them to finish it or recommend it to others. Therefore, an author will use various narrative strategies to promote reader engagement, and this is something that J. R. R. Tolkien does extremely well. The Hobbit has received wide critical acclaim and has become one of the most famous novels of our time, due in part to the reader engagement it produces.…

“The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien is one of the most complex, mystical and adventurous stories in literature. Tolkien intertwines setting, characters, and imagery to show that unexpected heroes can surprise us and be the most unlikely or simplest person. Other themes are home, friendship, and “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”-- or in other words, sometimes our first impression of someone may not be very true. This was the case with the dwarves and especially Thorin, when they judged the main character.…

When we first were signing up to choose our topics, I chose baking because I like to simply bake. I thought that there could be some chemistry involved due to heat in the oven changing food from liquid to solid. I was so wrong. Even though the oven and heat portion plays a major factor, a good portion of the real chemistry lies in the ingredients we use to make such delicious dessert treats and our different breads. From the ten different sources I looked up previously, for the Annotated Bibliography portion, I found that each of the websites say roughly the same thing.…
