Course Description
This course is an introduction into the challenging field of media and health issues, and will allow you to gain an understanding of the psychological effect of the media on younger generation.

Course Goals and Learning Outcomes
This course will provide an introduction to media and education, related health issues due to its overuse and the ways to prevent the ill effects associated with them.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

Each test will evaluate the students on their skills and knowledge that they attained through this course. Tests will be composed of multiple choice questions, short answers, true or false and one case study scenario which will be based on discussions done in class and daily assigned readings. If any student fail to appear for the exam without genuine reasons and supporting documents a mark of zero will be assigned for the test.

Assignment - Report on media and health issues

Working in groups of four, students will be asked to identify a health issue that is caused by the over use of media, it should be based on a recent article (2000-2015). A general overview of the use of media, how it can affect younger generation in a negative way, support with proper evidence from reputable sources. Based on the evidence found, comment on whether these incidents are common or not. The report ought to then recognize how the case could have been prevented, recommending control measures and how they ought to have been
