Hitler's Informative Speech

I find this time period very interesting, personally, because I feel that a lot of the actions that Hitler took in his early stages have similarities to things that people in our society and even people in government positions still do regarding the treatment of people and the use of propaganda. This is why one of the interesting facts that I built more knowledge upon is that the Nazis killed a lot more people than just the Jews. Almost 6 million Jews were killed, and anti-semitic remarks are still made, whether jokingly or not it is still hard for me to wrap my head around why people would do something like that after such an injustice occurred to that religion. This goes for the others that were killed, like I said before, such as African-Americans, …show more content…
A perpetrator can be a single person, or more often a group of people that causes injustice to another group in anyway. In the Holocaust, these people were obviously Hitler, his inner circle, and the different groups that he led (SS, SA...). Collaborators are not necessarily people who support the perpetrators, but they are part of the reason why they get power. These collaborators act as enablers, giving the perps the ability to cause the injustice. An example would be the general public at the time, following blindly without completely understanding Hitler’s grand scheme, yet still supporting him. The victims are the groups of people the injustices are caused to. Examples of victims during this time would be the Jews, African-Americans, disabled, homosexuals, Jehovah Witness, and others. Bystanders, to me, at least, are on or near the same level as collaborators, because by bystanders not doing anything and being passive about what is happening around them gives the perps more power. If one does not stand up, the perps will remain in power and nothing will change. The last role is the upstander. These are the people that made the real difference because they are the ones that stand up to the evil-doers when no one else does. It is important for society to study these roles because studying this makes an event like this occurring again less

WWII was one of the most horrendous wars in history, but the ‘cherry-on-top’ of this devastating period was the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a genocide (mass murder) of around 6 million European Jews. There are still many different opinions about the Holocaust, some are in the past as shown in “Poisonous Mushrooms” by Julius Streicher, others happened a short time ago like “Students Visit to a Concentration Camp Makes Some People Mad” by McClatchy Tribune, and “WWII Heroine Irena Sendler” by unknown. All three have different purposes and meanings.…

Words are what helped Adolf Hitler come to the top of the human pyramid during the Holocaust. Adolf Hitler once quoted, “He alone, who owns the youth, gain the future.” Words were not only Adolf Hitler’s rise; they were his downfall. Perpetrators are people who carry out harmful, illegal, or immoral acts. Most of these people might have had a good reason or in their case a good reason for their acts and normally that’s what people overlook the most when it comes to this horrific event but they don’t realize that perpetrators are also affected by dehumanization. Near the end of the book one charcoal says, “I have more faith in Hitler than in anyone else. He alone has kept his promises, all his promises, to the Jewish people.” (Night, pg. 81)…

Perhaps the most dreadful event in recent history is the tragedy that befell the world during the Holocaust. Throughout a twelve year period, the Nazis were able to wreak havoc and torture innocent people purely because of their “inferiority”. The Nazi ideology was rooted in the idea that the German race was superior to all, and this state of mind was behind all of the atrocities that took place in Germany and surrounding areas. While the majority of the worst travesties took place during the final years of the holocaust, there was a significant build-up to those events, which took place throughout the years from 1933 to 1938. During these years, the Nazis began to show their true intention to the world, and began their systematic persecution…

Historian Alfred Cosby coined the phrase “Columbian Exchange” to depict the exchange of plants, animals and disease between the Old World and New World following Christopher Columbus’s arrival to the New World in 1492. The Columbian Exchange was a revolutionary time period for both the Old World and the New World as it transformed each area in both positive and negative ways. Primarily, the main impacts of the exchange were transformations of the people, animals, plants, food, minerals and commerce in the two areas. Specifically, the Old Word introduced the New World to livestock such as cows, pigs and horses, and agricultural plants like wheat, rice and sugar cane. In return, the New World presented the Old World with potatoes, corn, beans…

Talk about Holocaust and how the American people viewed it. Talk about Roosevelt’s views. Roosevelt felt sympathetic towards the Jewish people, and he tried to help the refugees, but unfortunately his efforts were hindered by the anti-Semitic views that the American population and the national government held. This anti-Semitic attitude manifested itself in the minds of Americans in many ways, and although there was no legal discrimination, these beliefs made it more difficult to gain support for allowing immigrants into the country.…

The Holocaust was a significant event in history that has been analyzed in different ways. Much of what the Holocaust has taught is that all Germans right away supported the anti-Semitic thoughts of Nazis which, is not the case. Discrimination, persecution and eventually the murder of Jewish-Europeans between the years 1933 and 1945 as seen through accounts of historians, is argued that ordinary citizens participated in the territories where Jewish-Europeans resided. These ordinary Germans, participated in the persecution and murder of the Jewish Europeans as a result of the thoughts and ideals of the Germanic rule that was set forth onto German Jews and German Europeans.…

The Holocaust was a significant event where the Nazi’s present a genocide of 6 million Jews. The mass murder was motivated by the influence of strong anti-Semitic traditions in Europe, and Germany's ethnocentrism over the Jews who were seen as a threat to German racial community. However, this was an effective strategy for Adolf Hitler to rise to power and become an admirable leader in Germany. Aside from Hitler’s decision to destruct the Jews, he also desired to exterminate the Gypsies, Poles, Slavs, the sick, the old, or anyone who is mentally ill.…
