In the days before Hitler’s suicide, he stayed in a 2 story, 3000 square-foot bunker in Berlin, called the Füherbunker, which was located directly underneath the German Chancellery. It was there where Hitler spent his final days of WWII, and possibly his life. He moved into the Füherbunker sometime early in April of 1945, when the Soviets were beginning to make their final push towards Berlin, trying to win the war. As Allied forces closed in on all sides of Berlin, parts of it were evacuated to prevent the Hitler knew that he was ultimately going to lose the war; his mental health started to deteriorate slowly. On April 22, Hitler suddenly let a shrieking, hysterical cry, denunciating the “universal treason, corruption, lies, and failures of those who had deserted” (?????). Hitler also arrested Himmler and Göring shortly after his 56th and last birthday, because they chose not to stay with him in the Füherbunker.
