Hitler's Beliefs About The Holocaust

Improved Essays
During World War Two (1933-1945), Adolf Hitler came to power and began to take over the world with his views. The events that took place under his control were horrendous; the worst being the Holocaust, killing an estimated 11 million people. As time goes on, some people are developing the belief that the Holocaust didn’t actually happen, it was a myth made up by Hitler’s opposition, used as a tactic to suffice his fall down from power. This small group of people are generally known as simply Holocaust Deniers but such believers name themselves ‘revisionism’. Throughout this essay I will suggest and discuss arguments to prove and disprove that the evidence is sufficient to deter these deniers.
One of the biggest arguments from the Holocaust Deniers is that there are no survivors able to tell the story of how the

We all know that the Holocaust did happen and it was a significant period in history, there is masses of evidence to prove it. But what I have tried to discuss is what extents people believe the Holocaust was. Extreme deniers may believe it was only a couple of people murdered by Hitler and exaggerated to scare the rest of the world and assist Hitler’s downfall. However many rightfully prove that there were 6+ million tortured and killed under the demand of Hitler. There is no evidence that can prove that the Holocaust never existed; however some pieces of evidence can be manipulated into different reasoning’s, which is where I believe the Deniers stem from. Overall, I cannot say that the evidence from the Holocaust is enough to completely transform the Holocaust deniers into the opposite of what they believe, although I believe that when evidence is presented in front of them, their mind must begin to flicker as to what extent they believe they the Holocaust went

Normally, the beliefs and ideas of political and social fringe groups are brushed aside as “crazy talk,” or belittled as an entity that will merely go away as time passes. Occasionally, these fringe groups attempt to insert themselves into the mainstream and regularly resort to deceptive measures to increase their legitimacy. The book, Denying History: Who Says the Holocaust Never Happened and Why Do They Say It?, written by Michael Shermer and Alex Grobman, discusses and analyzes the Holocaust Denial movement that is present around the world and has attempted to gain a foothold in the public conscious over the last fifty years. Shermer and Grobman use this book to present the ideas and arguments of Holocaust Deniers and then systematically…

If one goes back to the original definition of cognitive authority the intersection of memory, cognitive authority, and Holocaust revisionism becomes apparent. Since cognitive authority relies on second hand accounts of experiences, as time goes on and World War II veterans die off, memory begins to fade and the general populace’s memory of the war will more and more heavily rely on cognitive authorities such as historians. Memory is also likely to change to reflect this fact. Who knows just how memory will change in response to a lack of personal experience, but it may not be a completely positive future if one’s hope is for memory to match actual history. When those with direct experiences, mostly Holocaust survivors, die off, Holocaust revisionists will likely see some gaining of ground in public memory.…

The book is organized into four main topics that deal with the idea of free speech, the Holocaust Denial movement itself, the arguments and refutations of deniers claims, and the relationship between real truth and history. These topics are subdivided into smaller chapters which focus on a key theme related to the topic. For example, part two of the book titled, “Inside the Denial Movement,” contains chapter four which is titled, “Why They Say the Holocaust Never Happened,” (75). This chapter, within the larger topic, focuses on the reasoning and motivation behind Holocaust Deniers participation within the movement. Chapters are further divided into smaller topical sections which usually contain discussion of secondary and primary sources that highlight the theme of the section.…

Gerald Fleming’s Hitler and the Final Solution is an important and controversial book in the study of the Holocaust. Fleming takes an “ultra-intentionalist” position on the historiographical debate on the origins of the Final Solution and his work has contributed significantly to the ongoing study on the subject. In this book, Fleming makes an argument that is well supported by existing and new evidence that Hitler was directly involved in the implementation of the Final Solution. The initial incentive in writing Hitler and the Final Solution was to rebuff David Irving’s contention that Hitler was largely unaware of the Jewish extermination. Gerald Fleming was himself a German-Jew that had been raised and educated in England.…

In conclusion, it is essential that the occurrence of the Holocaust remain in everyone's mind for those who choose to challenge the existence of established evidence, eyewitness testimonies, and the magnitude of the Holocaust. In an essay excerpt " It Is Important to Keep Alive the Memory of the Holocaust..." author Sean Lang points out that despite the wealth and detailed evidence of the Holocaust, historical revisionists still claim that the murder of nearly six million Jews never occurred. The author emphasizes that "remembering the Holocaust is not just about looking back" but is mostly for those who are bound to repeat the same acts and to ensure that no crimes are committed against humanity again. Beyond affirming that Irvin is a Holocaust…

Unfortunately, however, the Holocaust is riddled with those who choose to explicitly deny its existence in history. The ‘truths’ of these deniers are fabrications which ignore huge amounts of evidence. By cultivating a facade of scientific objectivity, Arthur Butz and David Irving, as part of their academic appearance, borrow freely from each other in a never-ending cycle of dishonesty. They select the evidence and facts that suit their opinion. By assessing various pieces of literature on the Holocaust you can see the multiply interpretations some that are very left wing and bored on the rehabilitation of Nazism.…

Many people deny the holocaust and what happened to the Jews between January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945. All the evidence is there supporting the Holocaust the gas chambers are still there with gas residue inches thick the barracks are still standing. So you tell me how you can deny that one of the greatest historical events to have ever happened didn't happen or was greatly exaggerated. Not only did it happen but the SS were the ones recording the torture, murder, and cremation of thousands of innocent Jews and gypsies. Its not like the Jews are asking for sympathy they aren't asking for anything they want to forget it all…

The Holocaust was one of the most devestating events throughout history with an estimate of around six million deaths. Most people undoubtedly believe it happened, but there are a few people called revisionists who like to think people made the whole occurrence up. With factual information and evidence, you will come to accept the truth that many innocent people died through mass killings and genocides in an tragic event called the Holocaust. Many revisionists say the Nazis could not have killed that many Jewish people, the cremation ovens/gas chambers were not used, and photo and film were used as propaganda against the Germans and historians are too scared to tell that this was a hoax.…

They claim that all writing talking about such things as gas chambers and mass killings of Jews during world war II are all forgery. Some go as far as to say that the Jews made it all up for propaganda and the true victims were the Germans and that Hitler was the Jews best friend. Why do people say things like this? One of the many possible reasons is that when they were in school they were never taught about it. So when they find out about it’s existence…

The Holocaust as we know it was the mass murder of six million Jews during WWII. There is a ton of evidence to support this tragic event, yet there are still some people that believe that the Holocaust was not real or that it was greatly exaggerated. These non-believers refer to themselves as the Holocaust deniers. Why would one deny such a large historical event that has so much evidence to back it up? Most people today accept the mass genocide and have learned from it, but others refuse to reason with it.…

Nearing the end of the war there was an influx of killing frenzies, manic death throes, and hundreds of thousands dead, all occurring between 1944-1945. In the beginning of 1944 many Germans still expected to win the war, however, by the end of the year that opinion had changed. Hitler was under assault from the air, from the Red Army in the east, and, after D-day in June, from the Allies in the west. German defeat was looming, yet killing went on in many varied settings; from the extreme death tolls of the Allies in both eastern and western fronts, a plot to kill Hitler, to the death throes of the Third Reich. Mass murder continued even into shrinking German territories well into 1945.…

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum stated, “Holocaust denial is an attempt to negate the established facts of the Nazi genocide of European Jewry.” Many revisionists deny the Holocaust events completely; however, there are distinct denial assertions that are made by other revisionists. “Key denial assertions are: that the murder of approximately six million Jews during World War II never occurred, that the Nazis had no official policy or intention to exterminate the Jews, and that the poison gas chambers in Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp never existed” (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, n.d.). Holocaust denial has been argued for decades, “Holocaust Denial first became apparent in France. Fascist writers wrote books about allied war propaganda, saying the evidence regarding hat concentration camps and the…

The Holocaust, also called the Shoah was mass genocide of millions of Jews, gypsies, communists, homosexuals, the mentally and physically handicapped and many others civilians whom were deemed unfit for up rise of Nazi Germany. Jews over the centuries have been blamed for being defeated at World War II because of reasons concerning economics, cultural reasoning, ' 'because they are different, ' ' and much more. Through film, and pictures we are able depict how those rough years must of looked. Visual entertainment has always been an interesting way to play with hearts of the audiences, which can be said about during the time of the Holocaust when fictional stories portrayed propaganda. So, therefore it can be easily said that most popular knowledge of the past does not come from, text, historical documents, but from film.…

Between 1933 and 1945, Adolf Hitler, the Chancellor of Germany along with his political party Nazis had perpetrated the most horrible anti-Semitism act that mankind had ever witness, the Holocaust. This deliberate act of progressive persecution and extermination had ultimately led to the deaths of more than 6 millions Jews in Germany- occupied territory, which is over 1/3 of the world Jewish population. As significant and terrifying as it is, there're no doubt on why countless of accounts, novels, documentaries, films and other mediums had been produced for us to gain a better understanding about this atrocity. However, not many works had been able to powerfully depict and illustrate the harsh reality of the Holocaust to such a great extent…
