• FDR as president knew that United States would have to enter the War at one point, due to the growing tensions in Pacific, German dominance in Europe and to expand the democratic rule overseas. However three specific key factors that led to the War were Japan’s control over Pacific, Hitler’s rule over the Europe and attack on Pearl Harbor. The reason behind annexation of Philippines and Hawaii were many, but most important out of all was to trade with Asia (mainly China).
