Anne Frank once wrote, “Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.” During WWII, the Nazis rounded up and sent many different groups of people in concentration camps. Over 6 million Jews died. This is explained in the article, “1933: Hitler Comes to Power.” Anne Frank and her struggles to not be caught by the Nazis is shown in The Diary of Anne Frank. Anne Frank lived during WWII, and she witnessed the terrible things that happened to the Jewish people first hand. Despite going through the horrors of the Holocaust, and being witness to terrible crimes, she held this outlook on the world. Her friends and family were killed but she still believed that people could do good things. She is correct in this worldview. People do what they believe is correct, even if it is really a terrible thing to do, and often do things that they later regret afterwards, although some may think that some people are evil, people are good at …show more content…
In “1933: Hitler Comes to Power” it says, “Six million Jews- the vast majority of Europe’s Jewish community- ultimately perished in the Holocaust” (17). The Nazi party killed over six million people. This kind of bloodshed is not something that can be excused by saying that the people who committed the crime did what they believed what was right. However, groups of people can learn from their errors; further in the article it says, “A reunified Germany is part of the European Union and a member of NATO…” (17). Germany of today is a free and equal society. The actions of the few in the Nazi party is something that Germans of that time and Germany now is against. In conclucion, Actions that result in the death of millions of people is not excusable, however, all of Germany was not for such actions then and now, and groups can change and show the good side of
