The French Revolution and the resulting war in Europe created many conflicts leading to a split in political parties. First, Hamilton quickly took side with the British thinking that what the French was doing wasn’t right. Hamilton also didn’t want to lose any trade with the British which lead to the side he chose. Alexander Hamilton showed his viewpoints by saying, “ In reviewing the disgusting spectacle of the French revolution, it is difficult to avert the eye entirely from those features of it which betray a plan to disorganized the human mind itself” (Hamilton). This is important because it shows how one of the parties viewed this conflict and what they thought of the French. Also, how Hamilton shows his feelings by describing the revolution as “disgusting”. The reason for this is because America had so many unresolved conflicts with other countries that lead to conflicts. The French Revolution came up and disrupted the US government because some of the country wanted to fight but others didn’t want to get into any more unwanted conflicts. After this the US decided to create more neutrality in the government and resolve some of the old issues they had with other countries. First was Jay's Treaty, which helped create peace between Britain and the US. Before the treaty the British was still doing things that the US didn’t like which was starting arguments, so they created a peace treaty laying down a few rules to help the governments. Second was the Pinckney, which helped resolve conflicts between Spain and America. Both of these treaties showed that the US government was trying to resolve the conflicts from before when they couldn’t keep neutrality in their government. When they finally resolved the conflicts, it created more peace between the countries and lead to an easier attempt at being a neutral
