There have been many inventions made before the 1950’s. Some are the ones we still use today in 2018. One, in particular, is the toaster in which we have used for several centuries. This machine has been used to help make breakfast much easier in the morning. It’s such a simple machine, yet the history of the toaster has not been explained thoroughly.
From the website called Hagley, it states that “The first toaster that has been invented was in 1893 by Alan MacMasters from Scotland. He was a scientist and created the first toaster named the Eclipse Toaster which was manufactured and sold by a British company called Crompton Company”. It was not a commercial success because the main reason was that it became a dangerous product. The Eclipse Toaster was very flammable which caused many small fires in homes. This did pave the way for a revised version of the toaster much later in time. This version of the toaster was electric and was made by Charles Strite in 1921.
