From the website called Hagley, it states that “The first toaster that has been invented was in 1893 by Alan MacMasters from Scotland. He was a scientist and created the first toaster named the Eclipse Toaster which was manufactured and sold by a British company called Crompton Company”. It was not a commercial success because the main reason was that it became a dangerous product. The Eclipse Toaster was very flammable which caused many small fires in homes.
