The Salem Witch Trials were some of the most cryptic and dark parts of early American history. It demonstrates some of the most bigoted and evil actions done by men. After western America was colonized, a group of self proclaimed “puritans” sought out to makes everyone’s life perfect. They told them to keep a watchful eye on their neighbor and report misbehavior or anything that wasn’t perfect. Later on there were rumors of Witches befriending the devil. Though this was just a rumor, the puritans started burning or drowning suspected “witches”. Many of them were either tortured or killed in gruesome ways.
