Pro sports league commissioners’ and their offices have a lot of various responsibilities when it comes to their own sports league. I do not believe that the commissioners’ offices should dictate how franchises handle their reselling and relationships with resale vendors. First thing, all pro sports leagues are completely different and have their own set of rules and regulations, so I would not want to categorize them. I do believe that commissioners’ and their offices should however, have rules and guidelines to how the franchises handle their resells, like every other thing in their leagues such as: penalties, jersey and shoe restrictions, social media policies, etc.…

The Washington redskins has been a national football team since 1932. "Redskins" is a a name used originally by native Americans, and also approved by local natives. I believe the redskins name shouldn't be changed because the name gives pride and honor to the redskins tribe. Charles Krauthammer states how years ago, the word "retarded" was simply a word meaning idiotic, but was made into a derogatory term used against the disabled. So the issue is not the team name itself but the ability to change the name.…

Not only is the amount of downs different, but so are the amount of players on the field. In the NFL, there are eleven players on the field, opposed to the CFL, where there are twelve! In the CFL, they can fit twelve people onto the field easier because the field is bigger than the NFL’s field.…

The court decided that the eligibility rules of the NFL are to be known and treated as mandatory bargaining subjects, which can then only be challenged by the NFL players union and cannot be altered or negotiated with by a prospective draftee. The eligibility rules were deemed mandatory bargaining subjects because the changes directly affect the players in the NFL as far as their wages and compensations go. Therefore, Clarett’s claims were considered to be inadequate to negotiate with the eligibility rules of the NFL. VII. The NFL states that they provide benefits: in joint replacement, long-term care insurance, life insurance programs, prescriptions benefits, neurological evaluations and spine treatment programs, assisted living partnerships, and a Medicare program. The NFL claims that their partnership they have with the NFLPA has spent over a billion dollars on all of these benefits. The NFL is looking into whether previous injuries and lifestyle of the litigants have anything to do with the injuries. If the NFL had lost that case it could have end up paying over $500,000 for each individual player, which could end up in over $10 billion total. Because the NFL brings in an average of 9 billion dollars a year this would have be crippling to the league’s profit (Feeley).…
