The Miami Marlins are an American professional baseball team located in Miami, Florida. They play at Marlins Park, their home field. They are apart of the National League East division in Major League Baseball. The team began to play in the 1993 season as the Florida Marlins. They started playing home games from the beginning of their inaugural season to the 2011 season at Sun Life Stadium. Ever since the 2012 season, they have played at Marlins Park in downtown Miami, on the site of the former Orange Bowl in Little Havana, Florida. The new park is owned by Miami-Dade County. Also the new park, unlike Sun Life Stadium, was designed foremost as a baseball park, rather than a field to be shared with football players. The new park's name is temporary,
