The service was in remembrance of officers who died in the line of duty. One officer in particular was Patrolman Amos Hamilton, the only Frankfort officer ever killed in the line of duty.
Hamilton was shot and killed in the alley north of Veterans Park on October 12th 1929.
Police Chief Troy Bacon said community members have an important job in keeping neighborhoods and officers safe.
"Call when you need something," said Bacon. "Don't think that you are bothering us. Support us. We come from the community and I think sometimes people forget that. We are humans just like everyone else."
