Did you know there are about 2,472 people including 847 children that are homeless? Not many people realize how many are in need in Sioux Falls. This can be that they are homeless, in a shelter, or in a secondary house. There are a few things in the town of Sioux Falls to help those in need, but there are still many who sleep on the streets. You may see people here and there, but have you taken a walk downtown by the Riverwalk? There are quite a few people who haven’t. There are many young women and men who sleep under that bridge daily.

It would just be a general phone for those who live by themselves or need a phone to call family. This will help many of those families who can’t afford phone cards or have children. It would be very difficult to not have a phone when you have children.
In addition we could have places specifically for those who are homeless and need free things. I know the necessities are hard to come by. Especially free showers, somewhere to do free laundry, things to get personal items that would keep a person clean. There may be many families who don’t want to report being homeless do to them having the chance of their kids being taken away. Coat drives as well as food drives help but it’s the everyday things that many people take for granted. Being homeless may take away a person’s feeling of worth but being treated with dignity go a long way.
Just volunteering in general will help everyone. You get the satisfaction of helping others. I love volunteering for things with children. Volunteering at certain places show you different things. As well as volunteering lets you have many different types of
