The results of my job shadow still remain inconclusive. I would certainly enjoy being a history teacher, however I may enjoy teaching at a college level more. History will most likely end up as more of a personal indulgence for me in college rather than a major focusing on a career. Though it may be my primary passion, until I can get a secure position, history may be forced to take a back-burner to a well-paying job. This career is still definitely on my list to consider. If I were to find myself teaching history, I would prefer to teach AP world or European history far more than United States history. I still have several decisions to make before I decide on a career. Teaching will certainly remain on my list. At this point, as I weigh out college versus college, I should also take into account what I’m passionate about versus what makes money. Hopefully the two can overlap. In the history field, I could also see myself branching out as a museum curator or an English teacher in a foreign country, but history and culture will always be the bottom line for me. History teaching is just one piece in that puzzle. I hope that one day I can pursue it, but the future is too fuzzy to tell at this
