The History behind The Conspiracy
The Illuminati is an organization that has not existed since the 18th century but has become the world's biggest conspiracy theory. The goals of the Illuminati from their beginnings are quite different than what we perceive of them today. The Illuminati sought a rational understanding of the world based on science and the idea of human rights (Porter).But it was not in the interest of the Church or government of the time so they were outlawed. After they were officially outlawed they started operating in secret and that is why people have assumed that they could not being doing anything good for society or anything at all. This secret society controls everything from the music industry to the choosing of the president to manipulating the world markets. Because their are beliefs that the Illuminati operated in secret after their outlaw many believe that they still exist in this day and age. The groups popularity was brought back in waves with books like the Davinci code and Angles and Demons. Most of the stories or fables about the Illuminati are mainly from the era of their creation because at that time the world still reveled in the belief of which craft and magic.
