I believe every mistake, every lesson and every downfall we have crossed gives us a better understanding of how and why the choices we made didn’t work out like we thought they would, eventually we learn from it. Everyone should be open to history and acknowledge the different perspectives of the events that occurred at the time. In the video of why history matters, a historian by the name of Annett Gordon Reed mentions how we should “approach history with a spirit of curiosity be open-minded that the story is much bigger than it has been presented.” I definitely agree with her statement because how are you to grasp something without understanding and being open-minded of the situation, which in my perspective should be rule number one. In every scenario that has to do with the past it is always much bigger than what we read in the textbooks and what we were being taught because no one ever gives the full details of the situation something is always left
