Different leaders have different qualities, attributes, values, passions, goals, and priorities. Though all leaders have these things. A good leader knows what he is striving to do in life. An even better leader knows how to get it done. A good leader knows what he is good at and what he is bad at. An even better leader knows how to enhance his strengths and eliminate his weaknesses. A good leader knows his priorities. An even better leader knows to stick to these. So, my question to you is, which are you? Are you the person that knows none of these things, the one that knows them but will not act upon them, or the leader that will do whatever they can to get better and lead with respect? Each one of these will lead you down a different path …show more content…
Which shows you that you can be great if you tried. Many people out there were so very close to success, but gave up before they made it there. Those people were forgotten to time, while the people that got up after being knocked down and ventured out into the unknown are the people that stand out in history! Take someone like Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, or Harriet Tubman. These people stood out among the rest of the population and actually did something to stop slavery. Many abolitionists of that time grew up as slaves or knew people that were slaves. So they understood the pain that the slaves were going through! Both Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass grew up as slaves, as shown in this quote: “I was now about twelve years old, and the thought of being a slave for life began to bear heavily upon my heart.” This quote comes from the autobiography of Frederick Douglass. This next quote from a biography written about Harriet Tubman by Ann Petry shows that Harriet Tubman was helping other slaves escape, in this case, eleven at once. May I also remind you that she had been a slave, but escaped? Though she still had the courage and the determination to go back and free hundreds more. They were subject to failure, but they kept going until they were met with the sweet taste of victory and success. They kept going until they got to help even more people and until they could do no
