‘’ It always seems impossible till its done’’.This is a famous quote from Nelson Mandela who was once President of South Africa . Mandela was famous for taking his country out of a apartheid. Recently i watched the movie Invictus, which is about how mandela used the sport of rugby to bring his country together. I have also done research of the true events time period and people. I will prove that the film, Invictus was historically accurate by discussing the true historical people and events, summarizing the movie, and comparing and contrasting how the movie portrayed the true people and events.

The director of this movie is Clint Eastwood. the main actors in this movie were Matt Damon, Morgan freeman. This movie was produced in 2009 by the Warner brothers (Invictus). The movie starts when mandela is released from prison. After mandela gets out of prison he becomes president but there is still a lot of racial tension. During this government workers thought they would get fired, Because blacks and whites did not get along. The main rugby team is this movie is called the Springbox and represents apartheid. In the movie they want to change the springbox colors but Mandela gets the council not to change the springbox color. During the movie the rugby team was not doing good at first and the example he uses in the locker room was with beer and says do you taste this this is the taste of defeat promise yourselves you will never taste this again. The next thing that happens is Mandela calls and has tea with the captain of the Springbox team. And Mandela 's daughter questions his leadership. Mandela goes and asks the rugby team to go around and teach the little kids how to play rugby. Fransqua asked the team to learn the new song. and then mandela gets interviewed. New Zealand won the semi final so they play south africa in the world cup. The world cup game will take place in South Africa and the security guys are preparing where to be at for Mandela 's safety. During the start of the game a plane flew over the stadium and scared everyone. Mandela goes down to the field and wishes the team good luck. And the springbox team sang the new national anthem. Then the game starts and they keep on scoring and tieing the game for a while. They go into overtime because they are still tied. South africa wins the world cup and they get down and pray.
