She is complimented multiple times for her obedience and being proper. Margotś mom often says to Anne how she should be more like Margot. But Margotś steam eventually got all caught up after the months turned into the years. On page 178-179 [Hackett] Margot continuously yells at Dussel which is very unlike her. This part in The Diary of Anne Frank shows that even the most pleasant person can be stressed because of the tension between the pantomimes because of being in a place where they were kind of being under house and arrest but it was their choice. Another example of Margo’s stress is on page 170 [Hackett] before Anne goes to visit Peter. “I mean, every time I go into Peter’s room, I have a feeling I may be hurting you. [Margot shakes her head] I know if it were me, I’d be wild. I’d be desperately jealous of you and Peter?” Marogot replies with a no and Anne asks “You don’t feel badly? Really? Truly? You’re not jealous?” Margot states “Of course I’m jealous…. Jealous that you’ve got something to get up in the morning for…. But jealous of you and Peter? No.” This conversation between Anne and Margot is showing how there’s no point in life in Margot’s opinion because she doesn’t have anyone to vent and let off steam
