Myths are based on historical events, world events, and unexplained phenomena that have occurred throughout time. Religious myths may teach morals, or the consequences of poor choices. Famous and well known myths revolve around Greek and Roman Gods. Myths of the Greek and Roman time period also involve “real” people. Warriors such as Achillies, the fabled Trojan Horse, and Odysseus all had elements of godly intervention. Their stories of triumphs and shortcomings, success and failure are all told through these myths. Relationships between nature and humans, humans and humans, and humans and gods are also present within a myth. A prime example of how myths continue through the test of time would be Aesop Fables, the stories use animals, and life events to teach morals about lying, being lazy, and about how even the small can help the large.
