As we know, after the exploration of Hispaniola in 1492, Spaniards began to colonize the island immediately. They enslaved the native population – Taino Indians and launched different campaigns like “Factoria” system - initiated by Columbus, “Ecomienda” system – initiated by Spanish crown, and “Repartamiento” system – initiated by the Spanish crown as well. Repartamiento of 1514 was the cause of social and economic mismanagement of the colony Hispaniola. It was the system which caused the great oppression of the native population by Spanish colonists and they made them to mobilize for rebellion.
